South Floridians feel air travel squeeze caused by war with Iran

South Florida is experiencing a significant increase in air travel costs due to the ongoing conflict with Iran. Local travel agent Gus Machado has seen a significant decrease in business and leisure trips abroad, including those abroad. Major events such as Formula One races and a soccer match in Qatar have been cancelled due to concerns about the conflict. Machado also noted that any flights heading toward the Middle East over the next few months have also been cancelled. Airlines for America, a lobbying group representing major airlines, has suggested raising ticket prices when jet fuel costs double. The longer the conflict continues, it is likely that higher airfare prices will increase.
