Expedia has revealed the most budget-friendly domestic and international destinations for 2026, with hotel stays under $150 a night in Laughlin, Nevada, and Bakersfield, California, ranked second and third respectively. The list focuses on smaller cities and secondary hubs where hotel rates are lower, but still offer plenty of cultural activities. Laughlin is a popular resort town known for its gaming and water recreation, while El Paso, Texas, ranked third with a reputation for having one of the lowest crime rates of any U.S. city. The international destination list also included Salvador, Brazil, and Thailand.
