We Be Sushi in San Francisco's Mission District has closed after nearly four decades, with owner, Andy Tonozuka, 76, announcing his retirement. He was introduced to making sushi at a restaurant in Japan at 19 and served clients such as the Prime Minister and Japanese movie stars. By 1987, he had planned to name his restaurant "McSushi" after receiving a threatening letter from McDonald's threatening to sue, but community members suggested the restaurant.
