Pricier fuel hits Tokyo cherry blossom river cruises ​

The Middle East conflict has increased fuel prices, pushing Tokyo Waterways CEO Kazuyoshi Harada to a higher level of demand during the peak of the cherry blossom season, causing the company to raise ticket prices from 5,000 yen ($31) to $31. Since the U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran, premium gasoline has surged by about 9%, adding over 100,000 pounds to the season. Harada warned that further price hikes may be inevitable if the conflict continues. The weak yen has also contributed to rising global inflation.
