Essex County campground’s fishing pier closed

The state's Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has closed the Crown Point Campground fishing pier due to structural damage. The closure is expected to extend until the 2026 season. While the pier is closed, visitors can still use the campground and day use area. The DEC is working with a structural engineer to assess the damage.
