Ohio sheriff, deputy stabbed and hospitalized; suspect taken into custody

A northeast Ohio sheriff and a deputy were stabbed in West Salem, Ohio, on Tuesday morning, with the suspect taken into custody. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said the stabbing occurred around 9:45 a.m. and were transported to Wooster Community Hospital, where both have since been released and recovering from their injuries. The suspect has not yet been identified but has a criminal history. The original call was about a suspicious man jumping on the caller's fence. During the investigation, the Northwestern Local School District was placed on a soft lockdown, which was later lifted.
