Train singer Pat Monahan, who co-wrote the album and single of the same name, "Drops of Jupiter," is reminiscing about the difficult time behind the album's creation as it celebrates its 25th anniversary on March 27, 2026. Monahan recalls that writing the album was a "weird, difficult time," as his mother, Patricia Ann Monahan died in 1998 from lung cancer while the band was on tour. The lead single "Dropped of Jupiter (Tell Me)" was released as the lead single off the album in 2001 and later peaked at No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and won two Grammys. Despite his struggles, Monahan remains committed to the song's legacy and believes it carries millions of different meanings for millions of people.
