Travelers flying out of Hollywood Burbank Airport in Southern California have been warned to arrive at least two hours before their flights for the next two months due to road construction. The airport, which is one of Southern California's fastest airports, is expected to close one lane of traffic on the southbound side of Hollywood Way near Thornton Avenue starting April 6th through June 6th. The construction will take place from Monday through to Saturday, from 9 am to 3:30 pm, and the sidewalk and bike lane will also be closed between Winona Avenue and Thornton Avenue. This warning comes after a near-misses involving a plane and a helicopter near Hollywood Burbanks on March 2, raising concerns about aviation safety. New safety measures have been implemented, including eliminating visual separation between planes and helicopters in high-traffic areas and shifting responsibility to air traffic controllers using radar.
