Isiah Garrett, a 27-year-old Bronx native, has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for the murder of Los Angeles drill rapper Avanti Frowner in June 2022. Despite the hefty prison sentence, Fawner's family expressed outrage at the possibility of parole. Frowners were robbed of their gold chains and forced back into the store at gunpoint before Garrett fatally shot him 12 times in the torso. The killing was captured on surveillance footage. After fleeing the scene, Garrett and two friends fled to Georgia and were arrested later that month.
