Applegate had previously confessed in her memoir, "You with the Sad Eyes," that she ditched Pitt at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards to spend time with Bach. Bach stated that he was a single man on tour and met a lot of girls while he was in a band. He also apologized for any harm caused by the relationship between the two men. Neither Pitt nor Applegate responded to any requests for comment.
