The UConn women's basketball team, coached by Geno Auriemma, has won 12 national championships and is the overall No. 1 seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. However, being the top seed does not guarantee that the team will win another title. Despite being ranked No. 3 overall seed three times in the past, the Huskies have not been an elite rebounding team. They rank 139th in total rebounds per game (37.4), 96th in defensive rebounding rate (71.9%) and a mediocre 204th in offensive rebounding per game. Despite a strong 3-point defense, UConn ranks last in the nation in percentage of points allowed from 3-points and opponent 3-ball rate at 40.3%.
