The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued flood watches across Michigan as rain moves through the state. The weather service predicts freezing rain for the state's southwestern and northern parts, and predicts snow in the Upper Peninsula. In southeast Michigan, a flood watch is in effect until 2 p.m. for Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties. The agency warns that heavy rainfall and excessive runoff could cause rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations to flood. A winter weather advisory for the Tri-Cities region and northern Thumb has also been issued due to freezing rain, which could impact the early morning commute.
