Democrats launch new inquiry into Corey Lewandowski

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are investigating former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's top aide, Corey Lewandowski, who allegedly sought personal payments from contractors. The Democrats have sent a letter to private prison company GEO Group, asking it to disclose details of meetings and conversations Lewandowski had with the firm before and after the transition period after President Donald Trump was elected in 2024 and 2025. The private prison firm, which holds over a billion dollars worth of contracts with DHS, has denied allegations of seeking payments in exchange for favorable contract decisions. This is part of a series of new oversight efforts taken by congressional Democrats following Noem’s dismissal.
