Google and OpenAI Just Filed a Legal Brief in Support of Anthropic

Anthropic AI company has been supported by Google and OpenAI in a legal brief supporting its case against the federal government. The amicus curiae brief includes 37 amici (signatories) from Google and other AI companies, including Jeff Dean, who is Google's chief scientist across all of the company. The brief argues that Anthropic was right to stand by its "red lines" regarding mass surveillance and autonomous lethal weapons, and that the government's actions have serious implications for our industry. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has criticized the government’s decision to label Anthropic a “supply chain risk to national security” and has acknowledged that his company’�s deal with the Pentagon and subsequent rupture with Anthropic make it “looked opportunistic and sloppy”
