Rodney Mims Cook Jr., the head of the Commission of Fine Arts, has proposed replacing the Ionic columns framing the White House's main entrance with more ornate Corinthian columns. This idea was revealed in an interview with The Washington Post. The Corinthian style is a favorite of President Donald Trump and has been used on his properties. A White House official confirmed there are no plans to change any existing columns on the Whitehouse. The proposal comes as the WhiteHouse undergoes major renovations to accommodate an ambitious 90,000-square-foot ballroom. The White House fired all six members of the commission in October, appointing a slate of new members who align with the president's goals.
