Hundreds gathered for the funeral of Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, who was killed in a shooting at Old Dominion University as he was teaching an ROTC class at the university. The funeral was held at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, with over 600 people attending. Shah was the head of ODU’s Army ROT C program and served in Iraq and Afghanistan. His widow, Katharine Shah, opened the ceremony with a prayer read from her brother's Bible. She described her husband's compassion and sacrificial love as "only a superhuman could carry." Governor Abigail Spanberger, U.S. Reps. Bobby Scott and Jen Kiggans were among those present at the ceremony. Shah will be buried in South Carolina.
