Jun Saito, a 31-year-old man from Saitama Prefecture, is on trial for the murder of two women, with the first allegedly drugging and strangling her with her consent in 2018 and the second in 2015. The prosecution claims these crimes were inspired by the murders of nine people in Zama City, Kanagawa Prefecture in 2017. Saito admitted to murdering the first woman and then murdering the second three years later. He also visited the home of the 22-year old woman to make her suicide note and then kill her, making it appear as though she was dead. The next hearing is scheduled for March 27.
