A confrontation between citizens and police in west Baltimore led to accusations of assault on police. The police were attempting to arrest a man when a group of pedestrians allegedly attempted to interfere with the arrest process. Keishawn Garner, 22, and Ashley Torrence, 23, were arrested following the incident. Police claim that Garner was intentionally spitting on the officer's face, which they believe indicates a range of diseases. Both were charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, obstruction, and hindering a police officer.
