A German tourist has been awarded $1,200 after he sued his tour operator, TUI Deutschland, over lack of sun loungers at his Greek hotel. The family had paid over $8,400 for an 11-day stay at the Grecotel Kos Imperial resort on the island of Kos with their two children. The complaint was dismissed by the court as a "travel defect", which German law defines as a failure if the trip does not meet the requirements of the booking. The court ruled that the chairs should have been available in a reasonable proportion to the number of people staying at the resort.
