Metal detectorists discovered a hoard of buried buttons and belts on a Bosnian plateau, Begića Glavica, which dates back to the 13th and 9th centuries B.C.E. Additional archaeological excavations uncovered an ancient ceremonial site with a strange L-shaped wall, which was not fortified, and purposefully covered up burnt offerings. The site also features evidence of violent ceremonies. Archaeologists believe the site was likely a place of gatherings and ceremonial events. The discovery was published in the journal Archaeologia Austriaca. The metal artifacts found included several hundred small buttons, belt buckles, and belt adornments.
