Massive nationwide protests against US President Donald Trump are expected to take place Saturday, with millions of people expected to protest against his authoritarianism and other forms of governance. The "No Kings" movement, which began in 2025, has been a key part of the opposition to Trump since he began his second term in January 2025. The first nationwide protest day was held in June on Trump's 79th birthday and coincided with a military parade in Washington, with several million people turning out. The second "No King" day in October drew an estimated seven million protesters. The goal is to increase turnout as Trump's approval rating is low at around 40 percent and the upcoming midterm elections could result in a loss of control of both chambers. The movement's leader, Naveed Shah, of Common Defense, accused the administration of dragging us deeper into war and targeting citizens and immigrant communities.
