The book topped the list, beating out titles such as George Orwell’�s “1984” and Stephen Hawking’ve. The research also revealed that many people use bathroom breaks for more than obvious reasons, including checking the news or taking calls. Behaviourist Jo Hemmings, who conducted the study, explained that the toilet is one of the few places where people feel briefly removed from demands and social expectations, and that engaging books like "Spare" make an ideal choice for the book.
