The initiative is funded by philanthropic donations and aims to address postpartum bleeding, a common complication where women lose too much blood after birth, and reduce the need for blood transfusions. The MHA is also using a community program that provides iron supplements directly to pregnant women. The goal is to eventually adapt its best practices for rural Texas.
