The loss means that Barcelona coach Hansi Flick will not have a domestic trophy in Spain for the first time since being appointed in 2024. Despite a strong performance from Marc Bernal and a penalty from Raphinha, Barcelona was unable to equalize. The team's performance was also impacted by injuries to Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde, who will undergo tests to determine their fitness.
