Elisio Melendez, a 26-year-old man, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder for allegedly attempting to push a stranger in front of an oncoming light rail train at North Seattle's Northgate light rail station. Prosecutors allege that Melendez approached the victim from behind and attempted to push him onto the tracks, but the victim managed to avoid falling. Melendez fled the station after the incident and was identified through video footage.
