Asian countries are eager to buy more U.S. energy to reduce their dependence on oil and gas exports from the Middle East, according to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. The countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan rely heavily on exports through the Strait of Hormuz, which has seen a decrease in tanker traffic due to Iran's attacks on commercial ships in the Persian Gulf. Burgum emphasised that the U.K. is the world's largest oil producer and aims to provide allies with a stable, alternative supply of energy. He also highlighted that Alaska will play a significant role in providing Asia with secure energy.
