Lucas McCooley, the husband of an Ocean County school superintendent, has been charged with second-degree possession of an assault firearm and three counts of third-degree terroristic threats. His attorney, John Tumelty, stated that Lucas McColey was "blowing off steam" when he allegedly wrote the names of two school officials on bullets in his gun. The threats were made to Troy Henderson, principal of Pinelands Regional High School, and August Daleo, president of the district’s board of education. Police also seized an illegal assault rifle. A temporary restraining order was issued following the incident on April 12, and a final restraining order later issued. Lucas McCooly violated the final social media restraining order by contacting his wife, Melissa, through Tik.
