Far-right Czech parties want Sudeten German event cancelled

The Czech government is opposing plans for a meeting in the country of Sudeten Germans who were expelled from what was then Czechoslovakia after World War II. The far-right governing party, Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD), has introduced a resolution in parliament opposing the event. The annual Pentecost meeting is set to take place from May 22 to 25 in Brno and is the first time in the Czech Republic. Supporters and opponents have argued that the event could help towards reconciliation and could question the outcome of World WWII.
