Oscar and Olivier winner Mark Rylance is set to star in and make his feature directorial debut with "Nice Fish", alongside Michelle Williams, Jim Lichtscheidl, and Isabella LaBlanc. The film, which originally originated as a stage play, will be launched international sales at the Cannes Film Market. Tamara Birkemoe, CEO of Palisades Park Pictures, will represent North American rights. The production was largely a collaboration between Ryleance and prose poet Louis Jenkins, many of which were adapted into the film's screenplay. The movie is a co-production between Water & Power Productions and Shakespeare Road Productions.
