The Pioneer Trail is a 1-mile walking loop that would connect historic sites in Salt Lake City, Utah, with public art, monuments and trail markers. The project is led by Paul Gu, founder of AI lending company, who believes the state's unique combination of economic growth and family values is unique in the developed world. Gu has since become an ambassador of the state and a member of a project he hopes will help it attract those who want to add to it. The Pioneer Trail aims to keep Salt Lake city rooted in its unique pioneer values as it prepares to welcome the world. The 1.3-mile path will connect key pillars of state history, from Temple Square to the Utah Capitol, with trail markers, public monuments, increased access to historic buildings and a remodeled Memory Grove Park.
