Charities may be on hook for donations from Orlando crypto firm accused in Ponzi scheme

Orlando businessman Christopher Delgado, accused of running a massive Ponzi scheme, may have donated thousands of dollars to Central Florida charities. His company, Goliath Ventures, is now in bankruptcy court and has a long list of creditors seeking compensation. Delgado's donations include $350 to sponsor a team in the Apopka Little League, $50,000 to send a band and cheerleading squad to London’s 2026 New Year’�s Day parade, and $250,000 for a drug-abuse prevention initiative. Records from a dozen charitable and community organizations have been subpoenaed in the bankruptcy case. Lawyers representing several Goliath investors, including John Euliano, a major donor to the University of Central Florida and the namesake of the baseball stadium, have also been requested.
