Historic La Posada de Santa Fe hotel in downtown Santa Fe, one of the city's landmarks, is set to be sold for nearly $58 million in a deal that is expected to close this month. The property's owner, Ashford Hospitality Trust, announced in late February that it had entered an agreement to sell the resort. The purchase agreement came nearly four months after Hunter Hotel Advisors listed the historic property for sale. The transaction is not yet disclosed. The current owner, Ashleyford Hospitalic Trust, acquired the property almost eight years ago for $50 million and plans to use this strategy to reduce debt and improve cash flow by reducing interest costs and capital spending. The hotel was originally built in 1882 for Abraham and Julia Staab and served as a private brick mansion for high society guests.
