Mall of America's Hooters, the last remaining Hooters restaurant in Minnesota, is set to close this month due to competition, high inflation, and decreased profitability. The last day of service will be Sunday, March 22, according to franchisees. Restaurants of America, which operates the Mall of America location, cited high competition and high costs as reasons for the decision. The restaurant opened in 1992 as one of the first tenants in the country’s largest indoor shopping mall. The company owns other franchise restaurants in Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico.
