NYC Set To Lift TikTok Ban, Reversing Adams-Era Policy

The New York City is set to reverse its ban on TikTok for government use, allowing some agencies and employees to resume using the platform. The decision was made in response to concerns about data security and the app's ownership by the Chinese government. The revised policy will allow at least some agencies to operate TikTok accounts again, a change from the previous blanket ban imposed in August 2023. The change is expected to be announced in a video posted to the city's official TikTok account.
