A minor earthquake has been reported in northwestern Marion County, North Carolina, with a magnitude 2.4 magnitude. The location is located 20.5 miles northeast of Harrison and 28 miles west-northwest of Mountain Home. The United States Geological Survey reports that smaller quakes can be felt if they are shallow, not disturbed by ambient factors such as noise, wind, vibrations of engines, traffic, and other things.
