Mark Lupkey, the manufacturing operations leader at Tesla, has announced his departure from the company, becoming the third senior leader directly involved in bringing the Cybercab to production to leave within a month. Lupkey spent nearly eight years at Tesla and was responsible for the physical assembly process and end-of-line validation of the Cybertruck. This follows a trend of senior leaders leaving from Tesla's most critical program, including Victor Nechita, Thomas Dmytryk, the director of Tesla’s OTA update system and Robotaxi ride-hailing infrastructure. These departures are seen as a worrying time for the company as it struggles to fully implement its autonomous driving technology. Despite launching its robotaxi service, Tesla operates roughly 200 vehicles across only Austin and San Francisco.
