Oil supply crunch will worsen in April, IEA warns as it weighs releasing more strategic reserves

The head of the International Energy Agency (IE), Philippe Birol, has warned that April will see an increase in oil supply glut that has driven prices sharply higher since the start of the Iran war. Speaking to the "In Good Company" podcast hosted by Nicolai Tangen, Birol described the energy crisis sparked by the U.S.-Iran war as the worst in history. He warned that the loss of oil in April will be twice as much as March, leading to inflation and reduced economic growth in many countries. The IEA is also considering releasing more strategic reserves.
