Rachel Folden, a new hitting coach for the New York Mets, has been hired to be the organization's Double-A hitting coach at Binghamton. This comes after Folden spent the previous six seasons in the Cubs organization. She was recommended by the Mets president, Andy Green, and credits Balkovec, now the Marlins' player development for breaking down barriers in the sport. Despite other female coaches in the minors, Folden remains the only female on-field coaching job in the majors. She enjoys coaching full-time and has made an impression on younger Mets players.
