A jury in San Francisco has found that billionaire Elon Musk intentionally misled investors in an attempt to lower the price of Twitter Inc. ahead of his purchase. The jury rejected two of the four fraud claims. In 2022, Musk offered to buy Twitter for $54.20 per share, which valued the company at approximately $44 billion. However, he later attempted to cancel the deal multiple times, alleging that Twitter had underreported the number of bots on the platform. The damages for individual investors will be determined at a later date.
