Turkey says COP31 will push for more global action under its presidency

Turkey's Environment and Climate Change Minister, Murat Kurum, has stated that the country will prioritise financial support for the upcoming U.N. climate summit, COP31, in November. He emphasised the need for countries to implement their nationally determined contributions (NDC) and pledged to put them into practice. Kurum also addressed the issue of global phasing-out of fossil fuels, stating that Turkey will push for more action rather than promises. The conference aims to be "the COP of implementation", with $150 million needed for developing countries to prepare their NDCs.
