A Brooklyn woman, Valerie D'Angelo, has reunited with her dog, Grace, after a judge ruled that her neighbor, Catherine Feijoo-Nickell, had stolen the dog after agreeing to dog-sit while D’Angelo was ill with Crohn’s disease. Feijo-Nichkell initially offered to take Grace in when D‘Angelo was about to drop her temporarily at a no-kill shelter, but then refused to return the dog. D'Angelo had adopted Grace from Sean Casey Animal Rescue in 2018 as a remedy for her grief and loneliness after losing her 18-year-old son. The court ruling allowed D' Angelo to reclaim her dog and return it to the rightful owner.
