US tells embassies to review security ‘immediately’

The US State Department has ordered all of its U.S. embassies and consular posts across the globe to immediately review their security operations following retaliatory attacks on embassies in the Middle East amid the US-Israeli conflict with Iran. The order was signed by Undersecretary of Management Jason Evans and signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The State Department also requested that embassies should convene their Emergency Action Committees, multidisciplinary teams focused on preparing for and identifying attacks. This comes as the conflict enters its third week and has resulted in deaths of top officials from Iran, including Iran's Supreme National Security Council secretary, Ali Larijani, and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
