ATF arrest in downtown Pittsburgh tied to kidnapping, $25K ransom demand in months-long crime spree

Aussaun Porter, a 22-year-old woman from Pittsburgh, has been arrested on gun charges after allegedly fleeing from police and attempting to hide under a blanket of concealment. She is one of three people indicted on federal charges of federal robbery, carjacking, robbery, and violations of firearms, postal and other laws. All three are accused of committing crimes between late December 2025 and January 26, including kidnapping, robbery and robbery. They allegedly carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint, kidnapped the driver and then stole marijuana before demanding a $25K ransom. The victim was shot in the chest as the kidnappers fled. The federal indictment charges Burton and Porter with kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, carjackacking, and robbery, among other charges. The other three are also accused of robbing a postal delivery person on New Year's Eve.
