As Big 12 celebrates record attendance at tournament, one coach says it’s right where it belongs

The Big 12 Men’s Basketball Tournament celebrated a record attendance of 19,450 at the T-Mobile Center in downtown Kansas City. This comes amidst discussions about moving the event to Las Vegas, Dallas, Oklahoma City or even Orlando. Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson believes the event should remain in Kansas City, citing the significance of the city's unique fans as a reason for the event. Sampson's comments follow a 69-47 win over Kansas, which Sampson described as the best basketball program in college basketball history.
