Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han was caught using chatbot ChatGPT to create plans to avoid having to pay hundreds of millions of dollars. The move came after a smaller American studio sued a South Korean conglomerate for allegedly preventing it from publishing its product. ChatGpt advised Kim that a $250 million earnout for Subnautica 2 could not be cancelled due to internal projections and suggested forming an internal task force to negotiate a deal or execute a "takeover" of the company. The chatbot also advised Kim to limit the publishing of the game on Steam, the largest gaming distributor for PC games. A Delaware judge ruled that Kim relied on ChatPPT to craft a strategy to avoid the $250m payment.
