Meliha Karahan, the owner and Turkish native of Truva, is set to open the Mediterranean-American restaurant at The Sofia Hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter this spring. The restaurant, named for the Turkish word for the ancient coastal city of Troy, will offer traditional American breakfast and dinner options. The menu includes items like a mezze board with baba ghanoush, hummus, and stuffed grape leaves, and Beyti kebabs made of minced beef and lamb; beef cabbage rolls, and Turkish dumplings. The space has been renovated over a year and a half to create a lighter, brighter, more modern space from the French-inspired Currant American Brasserie. Karahan plans to offer more items like lahmacun (Turkish pizza).
