Soccer-FIFA extends Prestianni ban worldwide, threatening World Cup debut

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has extended the six-match ban for SL Benfica player Gianluca Prestianni to worldwide, meaning he may miss Argentina's first two World Cup fixtures if selected. The ban covers UEFA club competition games or competitive international matches, but not friendlies or domestic league games. The extension was requested by UEFA and was in accordance with article 70 of FIFA's FIFAdisciplinary Code.
