The US Food and Drug Administration has given a tentative approval for the first generic form of the drug, which could significantly reduce the cost of it. The company's injectable semaglutide could be finalised by 2032, when Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk's Ozempic patents expire. Once launched, the company will have 180 days of market exclusivity.
