After a saga of broken promises, a European rover finally has a ride to Mars

NASA has confirmed that SpaceX will launch the European Space Agency's Rosalind Franklin Mars rover, possibly as soon as late 2028, on a Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The decision to launch the mission has been complicated by delays and political issues, including Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The Rosalid Franklin mission, originally named ExoMars, became the centerpiece of a joint initiative with the United States in 2009, when NASA and ESA signed an agreement to explore Mars together. However, NASA pulled out of the agreement three years later due to budgetary constraints.
