FIFA has rejected Iran's request to move its World Cup matches from the United States to Mexico, citing logistical difficulties. Iran's participation in the 2026 World Cup is uncertain due to the ongoing dispute with the US and its President, Donald Trump, warning that it may not be safe for the team. Mexico's President, Claudia Sheinbaum, stated that FIFA decided that the matches could not be moved from their original venues and that FIFA believed the request would require an enormous logistical effort. The rejection puts the onhandhand on Iran to decide its next move.
